Everything players, teams, and spectators need to know before the 3v3 Hoops tournament.
What is the date and location of the tournament?
3v3 Hoops takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) on The Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio. Games will run throughout the day and admission is free for spectators.
How many players can be on a team?
Each team may have up to four players total — three players on the court and one substitute. Teams may begin a game with two or three players but no more than three players may be on the court at a time.
What divisions are available?
Divisions include Middle School Boys and Girls, High School Boys and Girls, College Men’s and Women’s, and Business/Community Men’s and Women’s divisions.
How much does registration cost?
Middle School: $100 per team
High School: $175 per team
College: $250 per team
Business/Community: $400 per team
How does the tournament format work?
Elam Rule Decides Winner
At the four-minute mark of the game, first team to reach the set target score (current leader’s score plus six points) wins the game.
Example: At the four-minute mark the score is 10 to 8. The set target score is 16 (10 + 6 = 16). The first team to score 16 points wins.
What prizes are awarded?
Middle School Division winners will be awarded medals and gift cards.
High School Division winners will be awarded medals and $1,000 to the boy’s champion and $1,000 to the girl’s champion.
College Division winners will be awarded medals and $2,000 to the men’s champion and $2,000 to the women’s champion.
Business/Community Division winners will be awarded medals and $2,000 to the men’s
champion and $2,000 to the women’s champion
Is there a cost to attend as a spectator?
No. Admission to the event is completely free for spectators.
